Fara San Martino is a town in the Province of Chieti in the Abruzzo region of Italy. In all the seasons of the year, the Park offers the visitor a changeable setting of extraordinary beauty.
The town is best known for being one of the world capitals of pasta, produced in Pastificio De Cecco since 1886; it is also a tourist destination for its location at the gates of the Majella National Park, with the medieval village located just below the mountain, from which you can also access through the Fara gorges, another element of interest for hikers.
Fara San Martino is located at the mouth of the valley of Santo Spirito, crossed by the Verde river, at the foot of the eastern slope of the Majella massif, from whose peaks there are deep rocky gorges that descend to the village. Part of the municipal territory falls within the Majella National Park.
