From the inner hallway a door opens into the first of the bedrooms. This bedroom has polished wood floors, built in wardrobes and patio doors that open onto a delightful outside sitting area.

The family bathroom has a sink set into a vanity unit, a w.c., with soft close lid and a large walk in shower cubicle. The bathroom is fully tiled, has an electric towel rail and a window to the side.

The second bedroom has tiled floors and double windows to the front.

A set of stairs lead from the entrance hall to the first level of the house.

The main area of the loft room has been turned into a suite by the present owners with one end being set up as a bedroom and the other as a living space. A open divider here separates a smaller area that is used as a smaller bedroom. This room has tiled floors and a double window to the side. There are a set of patio doors that open onto a large terrace that gives views over the village and to the countryside beyond.

An additional room with tiled floors and a velux window is used as storage and also as an additional bedroom if needed.
Outside
There is a concreted area to the front and the side of the property that is walled and fenced. This leads around to the back of the property.

There is a patio area immediately adjacent to the rear of the house. This has been nicely finished with a different levels and artificial grass for ease of maintenance. The main patio are is a cosy and comfortable space to relax and unwind in or to entertain.

Immediately off this area is a large building that is used as a storage and workshop area. There are the original beams still in this building and exposed stone walls. This building has the potential to be converted into an annex.

A couple of shallow steps lead down to the lower level of the garden where there is an ornate garden area and a large patio area on two levels. The upper level is gravelled and surrounded with mature trees and colourful shrubs. The lower provides ample parking space for cars and would enable parking for a motor home if required.

There is a covered structure here that is serving as an open fronted garage area and for storage of the wood supply. One of these has been finished to provide an additional workshop space.

This area is easily accessed by way of a single pedestrian gate or a sliding double gate.
Location
This spacious and lovely property is situated in a charming village that has a good mix of traditional and contemporary housing. There are cafes, post office, mini market and other amenities.
The town of Caldas da Rainha is a 10 minute drive. Caldas is a lovely town that is large enough to provide all you need while still maintaining a welcoming and vibrant community feel. In Caldas there are an unending array of cafes and restaurants, catering to every taste, including vegan, gluten free and other dietary preferences. Caldas has hotels, shopping centres, cultural centres, supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, doctors, dentists, two hospitals, schools for every level. There is also a fabulous centre park where there is usually some form of entertainment taking place. There are often art displays here; once a month there is a fabulous outdoor antiques and flea market that stretches throughout the entire park and makes for a great day out. There is a duck pond in the park where you can rent boats and there is also a children’s play area.

There is a daily fruit and vegetable market in Caldas where you can buy wonderful and fresh local produce as well as fresh baked bread, cheeses, pulses, beans, nuts, dried fruit, beautiful and colourful fresh flowers, baskets and many other local artisan products. There are several cafes directly off the market to enjoy a relaxing coffee while picking up your produce. A Monday market covers a huge area and at this market you can expect to be able to find pretty much anything for the home or garden.

The medieval town of Óbidos is only a few minutes drive away. In Óbidos there are two major supermarkets, cafes, mini-markets, restaurants, banks, pharmacy, doctors offices and other shops and amenities. Óbidos is one of the most popular destinations on the Silver Coast. There are various events held in the old town during the course of the year (although suspended at the moment due to Covid). The most popular of these are the Medieval Festival where the old town really does revert to Medieval times and visitors can hire medieval dress to totally absorb themselves into the spirit. There is also a chocolate festival, a fabulous Christmas festival and others. At the time of writing (July 2021), these activities are limited due to Covid, however the town is still putting on events but in a reduced capacity keeping in mind hygiene and safety.
Lisbon and Lisbon Airport are approximately one hour away. A regular bus service runs from Caldas da Rainha to Lisbon. The high speed trains run from Lisbon down to the Algarve.
