Just a few steps away is the old port of Chania, Splantzia square and Koumkapi. At these areas one can find all the night life of Chania or a quiet place to try the famous traditional Cretan cuisine. Also all the Historical monuments that shows the multicultural elements of Venetian and Ottoman civilizations that passed from our island.
The property is 125 m² extended in three levels stone walls and stone staircase. It has been reconstructed in 2008 according to its original glory.
Ground floor: Consists of a large open kitchen-living room, with a storage space under the stairs, five windows and a large ceiling fan.
First floor: Consists of the main bedroom with one double bedroom with its own bathroom and a second double bedroom.
Second floor: there is a large living room with 3 single beds (that can also be used as a living room) and a bathroom. Overlooking the terrace with amazing views of the old harbor, the old town and the sea, but also unobstructed view that reach at Akrotiri.
The interesting part of this house that makes it truly unique is the traditional elements that renovated or constructed. Each element and furniture in this house has been bought and studied one by one, so has its own history, making a special combination. Also the unique light green color of the stair railings and the kitchen cupboards are inspired from the famous chairs from the Garden of Luxemburg.
The borders of the Old Town are the partly destroyed old Venetian wall (and bulwarks). This has been the cradle of all the civilizations which were developed in the area. The central part of the old town is named Kasteli and has been inhabited since Neolithic times (ancient Kydonia). The Splantzia quarter (next to the east part of Kasteli) is also largely untouched.
The main square of the Old Town, is Eleftherios Venizelos Square, also known as Syntrivani. It is the heart of the touristic activities in the area. On the west side, lies the Topanas district, which was the Christian quarter during the Ottoman period. The Jewish quarter was located at the north-west of the Old Town, behind the harbour and within the borders of Topanas. The Topanas area has many narrow alleys and old buildings, some of which have been restored as hotels, restaurants, shops and bars. This makes it a popular place especially during the high season (April–October).
A very distinctive area of the Old Town is the harbour itself and generally the seafront. Akti Tompazi, Akti Kountouriotou and Akti Enoseos (marina) all feature several historical buildings and nightlife. The main street that combines the modern town with the old town is Halidon Street.
