Nisi Gerekou (Gerekos Island) is in fact a narrow peninsula with the Marina on one side and the beach of Kontokali on the other. The house where the TV series 'The Durrrells', was filmed is also on this side of the island.

This house is in the centre of the 'island' and has sea views towards the Marina and to the Old Fort in Corfu town. The lovely beach of Kontokali bay is within a short walk, and tavernas and shops are also within walking distance, so this would ideal for holiday rental purposes.

Built in the 1980's, the house does need modernising and generally upgrading, but it is in good condition, and has lots of potential. On the ground floor is a large living room with balconies at front and back to enjoy views in both directions. The room has an open fireplace with an unusual and attractive copper hood, and a little archway opening looks through into the kitchen.
The kitchen is very old fashioned, but quite large and also has a patio window opening onto the balcony.
In the other corner of the ground floor is a large shower room and storeroom.

A wooden staircase leads up to three bedrooms, all with balconies, and a large (old fashioned) family bathroom.

There is also a good sized self contained apartment on the lower floor. This has a kitchen, small sitting area, bedroom and shower room.

Outside the garden is large and has tall olive trees and overgrown shrubs which need pruning and clearing to fully appreciate the view. We understand that it would be permitted to build an additional 140m2 so there is plenty of space for another similar sized house to be constructed, still leaving room for a swimming pool.
