The village of Vasiliki has a taverna, which is a few minutes’ drive. The area is historic and has a nearby Minoan archaeological site (in fact there are a few in the area). The little hamlet of Monastiraki has two tavernas (one seasonal and one open most of the year) plus a nice bar (seasonal). The sea, supermarkets, bakery and other cafes and tavernas at Pacheia Ammos are within 5 kms; Ierapetra is at 11 kms; Aghios Nikolaos at 27 kms; and Heraklion airport at 83 kms.
