If you want to go to Uzès for the evening without driving, it is a very cheap taxi ride there and back. The region itself is full of interesting things to do and visit....Le Pont du Gard, Nimes, wine tasting, visiting medieval villages, lots of festivals.
In Uzès you can find a grammar school (lycée) in the French top ten of schools, and all the services and shops you need. Uzès is a town with a huge cachet. The slogan is: "Uzès will seduce you!" There is a very popular regionwide Saturday market, numerous festivals including Truffles, Bull running and Wine, and is the loveliest place just to stroll around.
