Monteguidi is a tiny village unknown to many but the cradle of the love between Mara and Bebo in the famous book of 1960 “La Ragazza di Bube” by Carlo Cassola; now a pretty village with a breathtaking view over Val d'Elsa and Val di Cecina.

The house is in good condtion having been renovated a few years ago. The terrace is a fantastic spot to sit and admire the beautiful village and the spectacular views of the hills.
In the village of Monteguidi you will find a friendly community. There is a bar 'circolo', and a good trattoria 'Il Piattoforte' close to the house. Daily bread delivery to the door as well as weekly fresh fish. There is a play area for children and a charming medieval church offering services every Sunday. There are beautiful walks in every direction all with panoramic views. Close by, there are three renowned vineyards selling wine, olive oil and honey. Throughout the year they all offer tasting events. There are horse riding facilities and stables close by.
A regular bus service links the village to Casole d'Elsa and the larger town of Colle Val d'Elsa. Casole d'Elsa is a delightful medieval town, a 10 minute drive away, with a weekly market, a good choice of grocery stores, bakeries, butchers, a pharmacy, banks, post office, bars and restaurants. There is also a small supermarket, an art school and a museum. Today Colle Val D'Elsa is famous for the production of crystal items; there's also a museum dedicated to this activity. The Berignone National Park is on the edge of town offering beautiful walking paths.
The prestigious Castello di Casole is nearby offering 5 star hotel accommodation and Spa, a cocktail bar, a pizzeria and a fine dining restaurant. There are also a number of hotels and B&Bs locally.
Within half an hour, you can reach the famous medieval towns of Volterra and San Gimignano with their shops, art galleries and profusion of restaurants. Further afield, the Chianti region and the famous Black Cock wine route are all within 40 minutes to an hour of Monteguidi. Siena is a 40 minute drive, and you can reach central Florence in an hour.
