There are lots of lovely towns and villages in the area that have a good range of shops, restaurants and amenities.  Amiens, Arras and Abbeville are all within easy reach as main shopping centres while Le Touquet, Montreuil, Berck, Boulogne-sur-Mer and Le Crotoy are all great destinations for day trips.  The ferry port at Calais is 1hr 20 mins away.
