Description complète
It was a Sunday morning in October, the kind when the air is still warm, but the sky already has the clear color of autumn. The road to Padenghe sul Garda flowed peacefully, between freshly harvested fields and golden hills, while the lake, in the distance, seemed to mirror itself in silence.
It wasn't the first house we saw, but something, even before arriving, made us feel that this visit would be different.
The villa was located in a residence but slightly out of the way, while the other apartments were set in the green condominium, the villa can enjoy the sounds of leaves moved by the wind and swallows gliding low. From the outside, it was striking for its elegant simplicity: four free sides, a large garden of over 350 square meters, well-kept, but not too formal, connected to the residence's swimming pool via a private passageway. A place that welcomes you, not imposes you.
We entered through the arcade, a beautiful corner that embraces the house on two sides. I immediately imagined summers there, with dim lights, slow dinners, and children playing barefoot on the grass.
Inside, light filtered generously through the windows. On the ground floor, the semi-habitable kitchen communicates with the living room, large and warm, perfect for those who love conviviality without giving up their intimacy. The two bedrooms on this floor —a double with private bathroom and a double — overlook the garden, and every detail, from the floors to the tone of the walls, seemed to whisper “welcome”.
Then we went down to the basement. And there, the house revealed another part of itself: a welcoming tavern with an open kitchen, ideal for winter evenings, party games, or even simply turning off the phone and turning on the music. There are two double bedrooms here too, and a comfortable, windowed bathroom. An autonomous, versatile space, which can change together with the family.
The garage, large enough for four cars, with direct access from the road, is a rare value. In front, the space allows you to park without worries even for those who come to visit us.
This home is breath, light, peace, harmony and silence. And it has an enviable position: in ten minutes you are in Desenzano or Salò, in twenty you reach Sirmione, and Verona is a little further away.
We left Padenghe that afternoon with the subtle —almost imperceptible, but insistent— feeling that that place, that house, could become more than an address. Maybe, a new beginning.
