The terrace, accessed from one of the bedrooms, has amazing views and stairs leading down into the private garden. There are cellars below, and also a garage.
The property is set in a lovely spot, full of sunshine and surrounded by woodland. There is a friendly local community and the old mule tracks linking the surrounding villages offer extensive marked trails to explore.
Set in a village location between the towns of Aulla (motorway, station and supermarkets) and Fivizzano. Fivizzano is a medieval walled town with a central cobbled piazza and it is often referred to as the Florence of Lunigiana. The bustling town hosts many cultural events over the summer with concerts in the piazza and reenactments of medieval parades. With its musical heritage the town also attracts international musicians during the annual folk music festival and there is also a famous food festival. There is a hospital, shops, supermarkets and restaurants in the pretty town. Aulla, the gateway to Lunigiana, is one the largest towns in the area. Nestled beneath the imposing fortress 'La Brunella', Aulla has become a commercial centre with independent shops, large supermarkets, medical centre, mainline railway station and motorway junction. There is a good selection of excellent bars and cafes, pizzerias and places to eat, and a busy street market fills the town centre every Saturday morning.
Lunigiana is a magical part of Tuscany. The rolling landscape is liberally sprinkled with castles of Medici or Malaspina vintage and for lovers of the coast the sea is only a short hop away. The golden sandy beaches around Lerici and the pebble coves of the Cinque Terre are ideal for swimming and sailing. The area is criss-crossed with marked footpaths for walks to the hills and mountains and the views are stunning. The airports of Pisa, Parma and Genova are all just over an hour away.
Fivizzano (shops, supermarkets, restaurants) 12 km, Aulla (autostrada) 12 kms, Cerreto Laghi (skiing) 30 km, Lerici (beaches) 30 km, Cinque Terre (UNESCO WH site) 40 km, Lucca 90 km, Pisa (airport) 95 km.
