Description complète
Set on a quiet hillside in the heart of the mythical Pelion Peninsula where the lush mountains meet the Aegean Sea, this beautifully renovated apartment offers the privacy, comfort, and character of a small villa
The Pelion Peninsula is situated geographically on the eastern side of Central Greece with a maximum altitude of 1,550 m. Pelion is known as the garden of Greece and the mountain of the Centaurs. On the west side picturesque villages are set between shimmering olive groves, whereas on the east dense forests alternate with lush and carefully created terraced fruit orchards. The many waterways find their ways through waterfalls and gorges to meet the Sea in little bays with sandy beaches. Pelion’s landscapes are ideal for visitors who want to explore its natural beauty on foot. There are many old stone paths and interesting trails which connect the mountain villages with the tiny settlements at the seaside. Pelion is an ideal location for all-year round vacation, as it combines one of the most visited ski-centres in Greece with amazing natural reserves and kilometres of sandy beaches. The location offers convenient access to everyday amenities including grocery stores, cafés, and a pharmacy, while the health centre is nearby and the general hospital in Volos is just 45 minutes away. The Volos Airport (Nea Anchialos) is reachable in 1.5 hours, Thessaloniki in about 3.5 hours, and Athens in approximately 4 hours via well-maintained national roads.
Agios Ioannis is surrounded by some of the most stunning beaches on the Greek mainland. Nearby Papa Nero Beach offers soft sand and shallow waters ideal for families. Plaka Beach impresses with its secluded beauty and emerald waters, and the picturesque fishing village of Damouchari famous for its role in Mamma Mia! is just a short drive away.
Pelion is a true four-season destination. In addition to its vibrant summers and colourful autumns, spring brings lush blooms and winter offers skiing just 40 minutes away at the Pelion Ski Center.
