Sometimes, a property tells its own story — and in this case, it speaks through history itself. We discovered a letter dated March 17, 1855, written by Carlo Alberto to his cousin Clelia, describing with affection and detail the very estate we now offer for sale. More than a home, this is a piece of living memory — a noble villa nestled by the river Savio, surrounded by over 15,000 sqm of private parkland, just ten minutes on foot from Cesena’s historic center.

Dearest Cousin Clelia,
I hope this letter finds you in perfect health.
With a heart full of joy and admiration, I would like to tell you about a recent visit I made to our dear cousin Dagoberto, who has finally completed his new residence in Cesena.
It is a magnificent villa, located in a position that is truly unmatched. Very close to the road connecting Ravenna to Rome, yet at the same time immersed in absolute silence and the lushest greenery. You would never imagine that such a peaceful paradise is only a ten-minute walk from the city’s historic center, so secluded and protected is the property by the surrounding nature.
The villa stands on the banks of the Savio River and enjoys a most favorable climate — the summers are always refreshed by a gentle breeze, while in winter the tall trees that decorate the garden provide gentle shelter. In fact, the entire estate, which spans over 15,000 square meters, is surrounded by small oak woods and trees chosen with great care, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and freshness that could not be more ideal.
The surrounding park is a true green treasure chest, where every corner emanates a peace that few places can boast. Upon entering the villa, I found the perfect harmony between a residence worthy of our noble family and the ingenuity of our dear cousin, who has structured it in such a way that each of his four children has their own personal apartment.
On the ground floor, Juliette and Dagoberto have reserved for themselves a space that is a true delight of lightness and freshness, entirely made of wood and fabric, with rooms adorned with French-style boiserie. A large living room with a fireplace offers the perfect atmosphere for warmer days, especially with the oak veranda reminiscent of Tuscan lemon houses.
Going up to the first floor, he arranged a spacious apartment for sweet Henriette, with large rooms, polished oak floors, and walls decorated with French wallpaper. From one window you can see the Rocca of Cesena, and from another the riverbank winding along the edge of the property.
Also on the first floor is Clotilde’s apartment — a true masterpiece of elegance. The walls painted in scagliola and the walnut ceilings immediately catch the eye and offer a stately ambiance, with charming views over the park and the surrounding hills.
The second floor is the most colorful and light-filled part of the house — an attic with two double bedrooms, enriched with skylights that flood every corner with natural light. The vibrant colors and refined details were conceived especially for the eccentric Umberto.
As for young Giambattista, Dagoberto transformed a large open space into four cozy rooms, including a kitchen-living area facing the sunset, illuminated by the golden light of the day’s final hours.
I cannot help but admire the wisdom in having created a home that fulfills daily needs while being situated in a location perfect for a peaceful retreat, far from the world.
