The village is classified by the Ministry of Culture as a typical Greek village of extraordinary natural beauty and all of its houses are preserving the same traditional style.
There is a tavern, a typical Greek cafe and a mini market in the village.
The village is only 3 km away from the closest beach and 4 km from the village of Kalives , where there are public services, shops and another beach. The distance to Chania is 25 km, it is 20 km to the port of Souda and 30 km to the airport.
