Situated in the heart of the Vega Baja, Daya Vieja is a small village of some 700 or so inhabitants It is situated on the left bank of the Rio Segura and is mainly farmland. The principal crops are artichokes, hemp, potatoes, and corn.

The surrounding farmland allows one to experience the authentic country feel to Daya Vieja; beautifully, intensely blue-skied in summer and heart-warmingly cosy in winter, it’s far enough away from the neighbouring towns and villages to be tranquil and peaceful but close enough so as not to leave one feeling isolated.

There are sporting and leisure activities to be found in Daya Vieja as well as several family run restaurants, the standard of which is very good indeed.

It is a 10-minute drive from both the neighbouring towns of Almoradí and Ciudad Quesada, a 30-minute drive from Alicante Airport and is served by the Vega Baja hospital, which is approximately a 20-minute drive from the village.

La Mata Beach is 2.6k away or you can visit Guardamar del Segura’s beaches which will take around 20-minutes by car, the flatter beaches and calmer currents of Santa Pola are around half an hour away.
