Location

Xiro Chorion, a small village near Rethymno, is known for its proximity to the Mili Gorge. This gorge leads to the Venetian village of Mili, deserted over a century ago for unknown reasons, as well as the Byzantine chapel of St. Anthony.



The village derives its name from two Greek words, "Xiro", meaning dry, and "Chorion", meaning village. In the last decade, many new houses have been constructed that are now occupied by non-Greek citizens from the EU, bringing new life to the once nearly abandoned village.



Within just 9 minutes, you will be at the beach or you can go for a refreshing drink at the local kafenio. Take in the view of the Amari Dam, located 16 km away, or go on a hike through the Prassano Gorge, situated 6.5 km from the property.
