An authentic Venetian style two-storey house built in the 1903 with its own well is located in the quiet village of Chromonastiri, above Rethymno. The house was completely renovated in 2004-2005 in accordance with archaeological permits and regulations. It is fully furnished.
The living-area of the house is 157 sq m. There is a functional well in the foyer. The house was completely renovated, using natural materials in order to maintain the required authenticity, but also to allow people to have a pleasant stay. On the roof of the house there is a private terrace with a panoramic view of the Cretan Sea and Psiloritis mountain.
On the ground floor of the house there is a foyer with a stylish but above all well-secured well. Furthermore, there is an equipped kitchen with a dining area, a pantry and a functional stone wood-burning stove. There is a bathroom on this level.
On the first floor, which is reached either by a wooden staircase from the kitchen or by a stone staircase after the foyer, there are two bedrooms and a living room with a fireplace. The master bedroom overlooks the village alley. The second bedroom is family-divided by a door with the master bedroom, but also there is a private entrance. It can be turned into a work room, a closet or an additional bathroom as needed.
On the second floor there is a secluded terrace with a view of the sea and the mountains. It is reached by a wooden staircase from the living room.
The house has all the necessary utility connections (water, electricity, sewage). During the renovation process, elements of the traditional Cretan building style were retained, such as wooden windows and doors, a fireplace and a wooden ceiling.
Chromonastiri village is located only 8 km from Rethymno, in a green oasis of olive groves, carob and oak trees. Nearby there are taverns, markets, beach bars, bakeries, medical facilities.
No additional investments are required. This traditional house can become a beautiful holiday or rental house.
