Saint Vlas belongs to the Burgas region and is part of the Nessebar community. The status of the city, the resort received in 2006. But the creation of a resort area began here after the opening of a sanatorium for the treatment of pulmonary diseases. In 1963, Sveti Vlas was recognized as a climatic seaside resort.
