Pomos is a village in the Paphos District of Cyprus, located 17 km northeast of Polis Chrysochous. Despite being one of the most remote villages of Cyprus it hosts several cultural events and festivities. The famous Idol of Pomos was discovered there. Is a small, quiet village with a long stretch of unspoiled coastline, situated away from the more mainstream tourist destinations between the village of Nea Dimmata and the tiny seaside resort of Pachyammos and is 21 km from the main town of Polis. The sleepy and unspoiled village of Pomos has a kiosk, a supermarket, coffee shop, taverna, bank and a butcher.Places worth visiting include the local History Museum, Paradise Beach, Tpoulorotsos Beach and the small harbour with colourful fishing boats, a view you can admire whilst dining at the fish taverna perched above.
Heading along the coastal road in the direction, towards Polis, you will pass through Agia Marina village. Agia Marina is a small, quiet village with a long stretch of unspoiled coastline. The village has a small grocery store, a coffee shop, a bakery and a small souvlaki house (summer opening only).

Argaka is located on the coastal plains of the Chrysochous area away from the more mainstream destinations. Nourished by its own reservoir this agricultural area is well known for its abundance of citrus orchards. The settlement of Argaka itself is divided into two parts, Pano Argaka (upper) located between the sea and the pine forest is the older of the two communities. Here, traditional style architecture can be found amongst the narrow, winding roads and the traditional spirit of Cyprus is still very much in evidence at the local kafenion (coffee shop) which provides a focal point for the village's residents to gather, exchange news and pass the time of day. Kato Argaka (lower) is the newer settlement standing next to the sea, although this area features more contemporary style residences and a handful of tavernas dotted along the coastal road, the atmosphere is still very laid-back.

Polis is the principal town for the northwest region, huddled around a pedestrianised square where visitors and locals gather in the mornings to enjoy a coffee and watch the world pass by and in the evenings to dine at one of the wide selection of restaurants, tavernas and cafes which radiate out from the centre. Polis also has an organised sand and shingle beach backed by tall Eucalyptus trees for spending the day enjoying the Cyprus sunshine.
