The former fishing village of Carvoeiro is located 60 km west of Faro and 13 km south of Silves, framed by hills and high cliffs, on a small, picturesque sandy bay, surrounded by well-kept residential areas and golf courses. In Carvoeiro, there are many shops, restaurants and cafes. To the east is the Algar Seco, a limestone labyrinth where the wind and waves have carved out caves, vaults, windows and terraces. On the beach, fishermen offer boat trips along the coast. There is also a tennis centre here.
