Local AreaHuercal Overa is a large market town on the border of the provinces of Almeria and Murcia situated in the picturesque Valley of Almanzora. The town hall administers to villages, hamlets and farms in the surrounding area of 213 square miles, most of which is agricultural, at a height of 920 feet above sea level.
The town boasts one of the top rated hospitals in Spain and is well connected to the motorway, being only an hour's drive to Almeria and Murcia airports and is located twenty to thirty minutes from the beautiful coastal resorts of Vera, Mojácar, Garrucha and San Juan de los Terreros. The centre of the town is a mixture of old and new with a huge variety of supermarkets, shops and chemists.
