OFFER ACCEPTED.
This house is a rare find.  It is in the historic part of Martos, in Casco Antiguo. Approximately 3-4 minutes walk to the town square and the town hall where you can find various shops and bars. The building is a former stable that used to be a part of the mansion next door that has undergone significant upgrading since it was built in the middle of the 16th century. The facade was renovated in 2022, and the stones around the entrance door are original from the 16th century. The building was registered as a house in 1978. The home is solidly built with thick walls and very high ceilings (approx. 3 meters from floor to ceiling) with wide stairs. It contains three levels.
On the ground floor is a bright entrance hall leading to a midsize bedroom on the right. A small, newly renovated kitchen is under the stairs with extra storage room, and adjacent dining area. You go from the dining area to the conservatory, which also has a laundry area with freshly installed Moorish tiles. Here there is a newly renovated bathroom. An iron door leads to a patio with lovely Andalucian tiles. The flooring on the ground level was installed in 2021/22.
The 1st floor leads to a sitting area and a second bedroom which is currently being used as a living area. The doors to the 1st floor are original from the early 19th century and need some restoration if desired. The smaller room can be used as an office with a window that faces north, offering a view of the olive groves. In the living room, there is a small balcony facing south. All walls have undergone significant upgrading and are all soundproof. Electric sockets are also upgraded, and the room has a new aluminum soundproof balcony door.
The loft is a spacious room that can be used as a bedroom or converted to a large guestroom with space to put in an ensuite. The windows are soundproof aluminum double-glazed, installed two years ago. The roof is solid and insulated.
The house is ready to move into as is, with only some minor cosmetic work needed. Daisy is a rare home for the price, complete with a rich history and soul.  It would make a great home for either holidays or full-time living.
The town of Martos is located on a western peak of the Sierra Jabalcuz mountain range. It belongs to the metropolitan Area of Jaén, which is considered to be the second most important city after the capital.  The closest airport is Granada which is around 50 minutes away or the larger airport of Malaga is around 1 hour 3/4. Martos is considered to be the greatest producer of olive oil in Spain. The town is situated beneath the Cerro de la Peña, topped with the ruins of the castle of the same name. This compact town spreads out over the slopes of the hill, under the Castle of La Villa and the Church of Santa María.  Its privileged location offers beautiful views over a vast sea of olive trees.  There is a large outdoor market held weekly near the park and several fiesta's are held here throughout the year.  This is the perfect town for those wishing to experience the true Spanish lifestyle.
