All rooms feature the original beams and great care has been taken to preserve the character of the buildings whilst still providing all the conveniences of modern living. The master bedroom (on the first floor) is enormous and features a large en-suite bathroom and double glazed sliding doors to a balcony with views over the valley of El Margen to the Sierras de Baza. There is a separate door leading to the first floor sun terrace and a south-east facing double glazed window.

House 2 is very similar with the exception that there is no study/office/4tth bedroom and the living area is slightly smaller.

All ground floor rooms maintain a fairly constant year round temperature of approximately 18°C. Cool in the summer and warm in the winter, there is no need for air conditioning or central heating. The property faces south-east to take advantage of the morning sun, whilst providing ample shade during the hot afternoons.

Outside of the 2 main houses is a large covered terrace measuring 30 x 4m, an ideal area for al fresco dining. Leading from the terrace is a large paved area in the centre of which is the 10 x 5m swimming pool. The pool is heated by 8 solar panels giving water temperatures of between 25 & 30°C from May to October. To the west of the cortijo, but separate from the main houses, is “The Curry Cave” restaurant, as featured on the BBC’s “Living In The Sun” programme. The restaurant has been closed since 2009 for personal reasons, however, it can be seen that considerable potential exists to reinstate the restaurant, which is sold fully equipped. Alternatively, the restaurant could easily be converted back to a luxury 2 bedroom rental cave house.

The whole property could easily be converted in to a large B&B or small hotel. The property´s location would also make it ideal for use as an animal sanctuary, kennels/cattery, garden centre, equestrian centre or activity holiday centre. As a self-catering complex, there is the opportunity to have 5 rental properties as well as substantial owner’s accommodation which would be very easy to manage. The rental caves will be sold fully furnished. There is great potential for the rental business in this area and this could be maximised by joining the Andalucian Tourist Board.
