This pretty terraced house is just off the main street in Goudargues and overlooks the river and meadows. You enter into the living room, which leads into the kitchen, fully equipped. A Rayburn cooker/heater is central to this room, and heats water, is used for cooking, and in winter heats the house with iron radiators. Just off the kitchen is a laundry room and larder. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a small sitting room, and a bathroom with an Italian shower and WC. The kitchen opens out onto a pretty interior courtyard. On the other side in a second building which has electricity, and has been partially renovated. Here there are two upstairs rooms, and a downstairs room. It addition there is a garage attached, opening out onto the square behind. This building could be converted into a gite, for which there is a great demand in Goudargues.
The pretty village of Goudargues is famously known as the "Venice of the Gard region". Here there are lots of small shops, a lively weekly market, and lots of interesting restaurants and cafés. For more serious shopping there is the town of Bagnols-sur-Cèze, 10 miles away, with large supermarkets, a hospital, and very large weekly market.
The village is in the north of the Gard region, in the Cèze valley, not far from the Cèze gorges, and just south of the Ardèche gorges. This is a big tourist region, with caves to visit, medieval villages, roman towns and ruins, and wine tasting with the famous Rhone Valley wines, and delicious local specialities to taste.
