Svirec is an inland village approximately 4km from the seaside town of Jelsa. The village is well known for its wine on the island and the surrounding area is cultivated with vineyards interspersed with some olive groves – how beautifully Mediterranean! The village is serviced with a couple of grocery shops and one or two cafe bars. Further afield is the town of Jelsa, which has a good selection of supermarkets, restaurants and cafe bars in and around its vibrant Pijaca. Jelsa has a daily catamaran service provided by Jadrolinija to Split via Bol on the island of Brac. It also has the new and exciting European Coastal Airlines sea plane which runs to Split airport in under 15 minutes, a fantastic service and currently runs all year round.
