Vrboska town often referred to as Little Venice due to its long inlet and several stone bridges. It has a good selection of cafe bars and restaurants as well as several supermarkets and a post office. The town is blessed with several beaches the most well known being Soline, which is partly fine shingle/sand. Jelsa is a few km away and is approached along a coastal road/path which is on the flat so ideal for cycling. Jelsa has a daily catamaran service provided by Jadrolinija to Split, via Bol on the island of Brac. In the opposite direction, about 4 km away is the town of Stari Grad which has the ferry port to Split, Jadrolinija has a comprehensive timetable in the summer months offering at least four ferries during the day. Vrboska is also very popular with the yachting fraternity as it has an excellent ACI Marina in the town.
