A very special eco-house designed and supervised by the Austrian architect/artist painter Kurt Anton Hauenschild, member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus.
The house is built on a land with olive trees, cypress trees and wild plants of Cretan nature; part with stonewall but all fenced.
The two-storey house consists of one old, stone renovated and the new built one.
The stone one has on the ground floor a bathroom/shower, a small kitchenette and a living/dining area. On the upper floor is a bedroom.
The new extension has 3 levels. There is on the ground floor, the entrance, a modern kitchen with all fittings and a dining area. Stairs lead to a nice size living area with access to a large veranda and unlimited views to the White Mountains and to green area of the picturesque Apokoronas. From the dining area, you access the patio, through large sliding windows electric operating.
On the ground floor are 2 bedrooms. One bedroom with large bathroom/shower. The second bedroom is an en-suite. Both bedrooms have access to the garden.
All windows are double-glazed and provide mosquito blinds.
The house provides a wood stove, double glazed windows, aluminum shutters, two of them electric operation, under floor heating/cooling. Selective solar panel provide heating and of course warm water. The house is a wooden, clay brick construction with excellent insulation.
You reach the taverns from the village as well as the mini market 10 minutes by feet. The beach of Kalami is only 1 km and the long sandy beach, with crystal, clear water, of Kalyves approx. 3,5 km.
