The property is located on a tarmac road taking only minimal local traffic. There is an electric gate which opens onto a tarmac driveway swinging up the slope to the house. The land to the front of the house is terraced and nicely landscaped with many ornamental shrubs and trees. Arriving at the height of the house, the driveway is paved with traditional Portuguese calçada, which leads alongside of the house to a carport and bbq area.
There in one entrance door next to the carport, which takes you into an equipped kitchen with open space dining / living room. There is a log burner with forced ventilation in the fireplace. From this living room space you have a corridor, which is also accessed from the official front door of the house. From the corridor, you have two doors on the left, one to a good sized bedroom, the other to a larger bedroom with built-in wardrobe and with en-suite bathroom; on the right side of the corridor, you have first a door to the stairs leading to the first floor of the house, then another door to the family bathroom with bath tub and ta third door to the third bedroom. There are electric radiators in the bedrooms.
The first floor of the house is ample space, and has storage units on both sides. This space can be converted to more bedrooms, and it would be possible to install a bathroom if so desired. The house is well built and well insulated, with double glazed windows throughout.
The land to the rear of the house is accessed by a natural stone paved walk curving up the slope through a rustic garden, passing a stone-built water fountain and arriving to a newly constructed pergola, surrounded by cork and stone oaks, with wonderful far views into the countryside.
The property is located only a 10 minutes drive from the town of Alvaiázere, where you can find all amenities for daily life. Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, is 26 km by car from the property.
Tomar is a bustling market town with a variety of supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, banks, health centres, hospitals, schools, bus and train station and university.
The university city of Coimbra is just under 60 km away.
The nearest airport is at Lisbon, just one and a half hours drive away. Porto is just slightly further, a two hours drive.
