The living space level, naturally lit through large windows and French style entrance door, opens up to the front porch and the picture-perfect, back-yard balcony. The front is shaded by a wooden pergola and has room for an outdoor living room while the back is a small oasis of green with ample space for more trees or a big swimming pool if one desires.
The open plan kitchen has fitted cabinets and built-in appliances, with extra storage room created by antique-style wall cabinets. The beautiful staircase will take you up to the mezzanine floor which is currently divided into 3 double bedrooms and a storage room. Provarma is located at an altitude of 93 meters on the west side of the valley of Koiliaris, at a short distance from Stilos. The village’s name is a toponym and means “location from where one has view to the wider area”, which is true for the location. The settlement has developed along the road that connects Stilos with Samonás, only a few hundred meters from the junction to Maheri and Nio Chorio. Provarma has two churches, one at the center of the settlement, dedicated to Agia Triada (Holy Trinity) and one at its northern end, dedicated to Agios Georgios. The former primary school of the village was renovated after 2006 and inaugurated in 2015 as a House of Culture, Learning and Creation.
Provarma is a small quiet village 6 km from the waterfront village of Kalives (with great sandy beach) and 1 km from Stilos (another traditional village with three tavernas and shops to buy groceries).
Provarma is an ideal village to relax with your friends and family while living in nature, a perfect starting point to make excursions in the nearby villages of the Apokoronas district. Exploring all the traditional aspects of Crete; where one you can come accross wild flowers that are unique in this island or walk in many small gorges in the Apokoronas district. A perfect springboard for the exploration of the rest of Crete since the distances are quite small; Provarma is 5 km from the National Road, about 25 from Chania and 45 km from Rethymno.
