The kitchen makes use of the same chimney structure, with an antique wood-burning stove transporting you instantly back in time. You'll adore making use of the old techniques to recreate the beloved flavours of Sicilian tradition – although a modern, gas powered oven is also available for more practical dining!

Elsewhere a pair of bedrooms enjoy idyllic views over the surrounding countryside, while the best is saved for the wrap-around covered terrace. This overlooks the emerald sea down the hillside, just a few kilometres to the north.

An outdoor kitchen makes the perfect venue for cooking up a feast to entertain neighbours and visitors, while a freshwater spring in the grounds provides a steady supply of beautiful mountain water. You could certainly be forgiven for forgetting that Italy's fifth largest city, Palermo, is less than an hour away by car!

Other attractions in the area include the fabulous Tyrrhenian coastline, the famous 'pearl' of which is the beach resort of Cefalù, just 13km away.
