Full Description

Set on a hillside, in the beautiful valley of Lakonia, Agios Nikolaos, Lasithi, Crete this is a Cretan farmhouse of 127m2 on private fenced and gated land of 2000m2.

The recently partly-renovated house stands on two floors.
The top floor is a large (60m2) open plan living room/kitchen/dining room with a large stone fireplace as its main feature. There are a couple of balcony doors allowing access to the large balcony on this floor as well as a couple of window allowing air and light into the house from all directions.
An internal staircase leads down to the ground floor.
This floor comprises a double bedroom, a bathroom and a double bedroom with en-suite shower room.
To the east of the house there is a vegetable/flower garden, an old water tank (which could easily be made into a swimming pool) and a couple of storage rooms.
To the south of the property there is a large field containing several olive and fruit trees.

There is parking inside the property for a few cars and vehicles.

10 minute drive to the seaside town of Agios Nikolaos and to several sandy beaches.
The international airport of Heraklion Crete is within a 50 minute drive from here.

Agios Nikolaos is the capital of the county Lasithi and is located at the Mirabello Bay, north-east Crete, only 40mins away from the international airport of Heraklion.

Geographically the town is well protected from strong winds allowing sea sports and swimming nearly all year round.

Although Agios Nikolaos has a population of less than 20,000 it has a several banks, supermarkets, shops of every kind, doctors, a modern hospital of high standard, public swimming pool and tennis courts, yacht marina, harbour, cinema, theatre, gyms, a 9-hole golf course, schools ranging from nurseries to 6-level high school and generally all the amenities you would expect to find in a large modern European town.

The microclimate is one of the best in Greece and the moderate temperatures rarely exceed 30c in summer or fall below 15c in wintertime. This wonderful dry climate together with the natural beauty of the area has attracted most of the high class hotels of Greece to operate here.
