Some of the most beautiful Abruzzo towns and Medieval Villages in Abruzzo share common characteristics: they are located on a hilltop with a church, a piazza town square and there are charming village houses all with sweeping views. The origin of these beautiful villages is mainly medieval, for it was in the Middle Ages period that these Abruzzo villages began to come into being and to this day the appearance have remained beautifully preserved, leaving a historic moment magically captured in time.

Pennadomo is a village in the Abruzzo surrounded by incredible limestone rocks that come out vertically from the gentle hills of valley of the Sangro river. The subtle scenic beauty of this area is a unique heritage, also considering the ideal geographical and climatic position and the proximity to the Adriatic sea and the wild mountains of the lower Abruzzo.

Rock climbing is popular. Pennadomo's climbing style is mainly technical, both on a slightly leaning plaque and overhanging on notches. The "climbers" are fascinated by these plaques created by mysterious geological forces that nature has unleashed. The wall of the Resegone is 80 meters high and culminates with a thickness of just 3 meters

ACCESS: From Pescara take the A14 towards Bari, exit at Val di Sangro and take the SS652 towards Perano. Once you reach Bomba turn right and go up to Pennadomo.
