Marcillac-la-Croisille and Argentat-sur-Dordogne are two that are definitely worth a visit. Argentat is considered to be one of France's best kept secrets. The town is very pretty with clean white-washed houses sit along the banks of the Dordogne river. There are plenty of picturesque restaurants to try on the quayside and the weekly market is in town every first and third Thursday of the month. Even on non-market days, there are a good number of shops and amenities to find.
