Historic residence entirely in stone, recently secured with partial conservative restoration works, consisting of: ground floor with various rooms for a total of about 400 square meters, atrium / uncovered courtyard of about 110 square meters; first floor of about 135 square meters covered as well as loggias for 220 square meters. The property includes a rectangular land of about 10,000 square meters.


The property is located approximately 20 minutes from Bari | Palese airport and 10 minutes from the A14 motorway.





Here is a historical description, taken from reviews of the municipal archives:


Byzantium Lupis, in his Chronicles, calls it Torre de lo Trono. It seems that this toponym derives from having been struck by lightning in the past; or, according to Roscini, because the famous Cardinal Vitelleschi was headquartered in it, about to lay siege to Giovinazzo.


The whole complex was completely rebuilt by the Sagarriga family in 1663.


Built near the road to Terlizzi, it is arranged around a rectangular courtyard and includes, in addition to the main accommodation, numerous rooms and a defense tower, topped by a small bell tower.


In addition to being a fortified rural residence, it had to carry out tasks of coordinating agricultural activities and numerous ruins, pools, stables and a capable cistern, scattered all around, seem to witness it.


Adjacent to the main facade, a small chapel, dedicated to the archangel Michael.


On the architrave of the entrance, on a tombstone stolen some time ago, Michele Sagarriga had carved: "Mihi, meis et omnibus" (For me, for mine and for everyone). - Ref. EID-594
