The property is accessed by way of two impressive and beautiful wooden doors, set between stone walls. You enter into the lower courtyard area which leads to the front door.

There is a flyscreen door and a pvc door that opens into the main living space. This is a spacious area that has been lovingly restored with wooden plank flooring throughout. There is a double window off the living room and a corner wood stove that provides more than adequate heat to the home. The dining area has a window that looks over the courtyard and there is a large pantry cupboard. The kitchen has been restored with the old timbers that were the old open fireplace being left in place and refinished. In the kitchen there is a range of base units with work surfaces incorporating a stainless steel sink unit with drainer and mixer tap, a gas hob and electric oven, with space for an under counter fridge.



The bedroom has wood flooring, double windows to the front and a window to the side. This is a spacious bedroom and will easily accommodate a double bed.

There is a really beautiful courtyard area that is filled with stunning colours from the wall climbing bougainvillea, to the pots bursting with colour. This is a wonderful sun filled area to relax and enjoy the outside or to dine and entertain. The owners have installed an above ground plunge/dipping pool so you can cool off on warm summer days.

Stairs from the courtyard lead up to a good sized roof terrace that looks over the courtyard and also looks over the rooftops and the village to the countryside beyond, with the stunning blue skies of Portugal above you.

Just off the roof terrace is an under eaves storage room with electricity installed and there is space for a small fridge in addition to the storage.

The property is located in a lovely and charming village close to A dos Negros. The village is filled with friendly neighbours and you will often arrive home to find you have gifts of seasonal vegetables, fruits or home baked goods. There is a good mix of Portuguese and other nationalities and the village looks out for their neighbours without being intrusive.

The house is less than 15 minutes into the medieval town of Óbidos where there are not only the attractions of the old town, but supermarkets, doctors offices, banks, post office, florist, hotels, cafes and restaurants.

The town of Caldas da Rainha is 15 minutes away. Caldas is a thriving town with a busy town centre. In Caldas you will find a wide variety of cafes, shops, restaurants as well as all the usual amenities such as banks, pharmacies, doctors, offices etc. There is also a cultural centre that holds regular entertainment events, a beautiful centre park area and a variety of hotels. Every day there is a fresh fruit and vegetable market and on Monday’s a general market where you can buy everything for the home and garden. Also in Caldas is a sports centre, swimming pool and a very popular bowling alley.

The nearest beaches are at Foz do Arelho and the Óbidos Lagoon and these are less than 20 minutes away.

Lisbon and Lisbon Airport are approximately one hour away.
