Finikia is a historical neighborhood of Oia, dating back to the early medieval settlements of Santorini. White washed cave houses and elegant churches dot the network of footpaths tucked below the natural protective cliff wall. Stretching below the settlement are verdant vineyards and agricultural fields. Beyond these fields lies the brilliant blue of the Aegaen sea and sky, a seemingly endless view, interrupted only by nearby islands. Walking the quiet footpaths, one can almost hear whispers of the village’s rich history of bustling naval trade, pirate attacks and old-time wine production.The village remains even today a vibrant neighborhood.
