The village of Nikithiano is very close to the small town of Neapolis (10 minutes walk) and not far from the coastal tourist town of Agios Nikolaos, Crete (10 minute drive).

Nikithiano is a small traditional village with a very nice tavern and a cafeneio. The nearby town of Neapoli has a good selection of shops and supermarkets and mobile grocers, fishmongers etc make regular stops in the village. The immediate area is mainly agricultural, surrounded by many small villages and impressive mountains.

Agios Nikolaos is and has been a popular tourist resort for the last 50 years. Capital of the beautiful Lasithi province on the east part of the island of Crete and known for its mythical bottomless lake and the venetian fortress of Spinalonga, Agios Nikolaos is a vibrant, bustling town offering modern facilities and shopping possibilities of a modern European town. Has many awarded sandy beaches and a modern marina.

The area of Agios Nikolaos and Elounda are known for their excellent weather and very good climate. The winter is very mild and the hot summers enjoy the refreshing cool breeze of the Aegean sea.
