A National Trust building and also part of the World Heritage site is this refurbished and well maintained 2-storey coral stone building located in the heart of Bridgetown. Originally known as Humphrey's Fort, the name was changed to James Fort in 1683 and it was one of the three (3) principal forts defending Carlisle Bay. The present structure is a warehouse built in the mid-19th century to store sugar and was superimposed on the exising fort.
James Fort is now home to a variety of business and offers onsite parking to accommodate approxiamtely twenty (20) vehicles.
