Location

The villa is located at close proximity to the village of Vamos, North-Western Crete, on the foothills of ‘The White Mountains’ and 25 km from the beautiful city of Chania. The architectural heritage in the village is well-preserved and Vamos is one of the most attractive traditional destinations of the area. It contains a preserved traditional stone road, the old neighborhood, the well painted Chapels of Virgin Mary (a monument dating back to the 13th century), and the Karidi Monastery 13th-19th with a spectacular scenery of an old olive press and 12 arches. Moreover the village is well known for the delicious Cretan food combined with a lovely village atmosphere.



There is also a number of beautiful villages to visit in the area; the picturesque Douliana, Gavalochori with the arched olive oil mill dating from 1360 and its three Roman tombs, Selia with its range of beautiful ruins from previous centuries and 18th century church, and many more.



The nearest beach of Kalyves, with its golden sand with green-blue waters, is a 10-minute drive away. The romantic and vibrant (Venetian) port town of Rethymnon is a 40-minute drive, you will reach the lovely city of Chania in 30 min, and Chania Airport in only 45 min, making travelling easy. The location is also ideal to cross through to the south side of the island, which you will reach in 1 hour.
