This charming and very cozy villa, built in 2010, is located in South Crete on the edge of the village of Mariou and in the vicinity of Plakias. From the pool terrace there is an unforgettable view of the sea and the bays of Plakias and Damnoni. The house also offers a beautiful view on the mountains and surrounding nature. The traditional village of Mariou is located on a mountainside and offers all the charm that you can expect from Crete. The center of Mariou with its maze of small streets is within walking distance of Villa Kristina.



The villa has a total living area of 72 sq.m. Everything is on the ground floor, both inside and outside spaces, which only offers practical benefits. The parking space is just outside the house.



The house has a cozy and furnished living room, equipped with all necessary, practical and comfortable furniture, including a 2-person sofa which can also be converted into a bed that offers extra sleeping accommodation. There is also a TV with modem and a router for WiFi connection.



The open and modern kitchen has a fridge-freezer, an oven, a dishwasher and plenty of cupboards. There is also a separate microwave available, as well as all kinds of kitchen equipment, such as a coffee maker, cooking pots, pans, plates, glasses, cups and cutlery.



There are two bedrooms with spacious built-in wardrobes and excellent double beds including bed linen. The bedroom that looks directly onto the pool has a separate sink installed. All the rooms have air conditioning and the bathroom has a bath-shower, a toilet and a sink.



The pre-installation for central heating is already present in the entire house.



The living room has access through large sliding doors to the covered terrace with beautiful outdoor furniture.



The pool is 28 sq.m, 1.50 m deep and is equipped with a low-maintenance filter unit. There is also an outside shower. For extra privacy, a nice fence has been installed, made of aluminum and glass. Everywhere around the house there is outdoor lighting.



The roof terrace can be reached by an outside concrete staircase where an even wider view of the surrounding area can be enjoyed. On the roof you will also find the solar water heater which provides hot water in an environmentally friendly way, the satellite dish for the TV and the antenna for internet.



Under the external staircase, there is a lockable storage room with a washing machine and dryer, which offers more than enough space for storing all sorts of supplies.



The house has a recently landscaped garden, planted with a diversity of trees, plants, shrubs and flowers, and is equipped with a computer-controlled watering system. The solar water heater on the roof terrace and all the air conditioning units received major maintenance in mid-2018.



The village Mariou is easily accessible from the villa. Mariou's famous taverna, which draws guests from all over the region with its delicious cuisine, is in the immediate vicinity of the villa. The larger sea side resort of Plakias, with many dozens of restaurants, cafes, shops, supermarkets, beach bars and of course the famous 1.3 km wide sandy beach, can be reached within 5 minutes by car. There are also countless other beautiful, quiet bays and beaches, such as Damnoni, Souda, Ammoudi and Ammoudaki. The nearest larger town is Rethymnon, a half hour drive away. Mariou can be reached from the airport of Heraklion and from the airport of Chania within 1.5 hours.
