In the beautiful village of Agios Dimitrios, a few kilometers outside the city of Rethymnon, a new small-scale and intimate project will be realized. The design of this project takes advantage of the rustic environment of the existing olive grove, following a minimal geometry that allows the merging of contemporary and traditional architecture. The location provides great accessibility and there is the option of rental throughout the entire year.



The project consists of four two-story villas, where each residence consists of two or three en-suite bedrooms, an open kitchen and living area, as well as a generous rooftop terrace. The exterior spaces contain a swimming pool, a BBQ area with an adjacent lounge area, and a large garden, providing the residences with an abundance of outside living space and natural surroundings and privacy.

The layout

The one available villa (plot 1) will include a two-story main residence combined with a detached studio. The construction works have already begun for this property and the villas are expected to be delivered in the early spring of 2023. The main residence will consist of two en-suite bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen, and a living room facing the beautiful outside space surrounding the swimming pool. The detached studio will consist of a sleeping and living space, with an en-suite bathroom, making it a perfect accommodation for guests.



Every residence comes with private parking and a large rooftop terrace with a spacious lounge area. From here the views of the sea will always remain spectacular and unobstructed.



The design of the exterior area is focusing on the summer character of the house, placing the pool parallel to the living room so as to work as an extension of the latter, an effect that is enhanced by the use of large windows. The design of the residences is based on open spaces with as few confined rooms as possible, making use of the full potential of each space. The use of warm and pure colors and materials creates a serene environment where one will fully come at ease. The division of the plots and gardens will secure privacy and make sure you feel sheltered and in harmony with the surrounding nature.



The project enhances the unique topography of the site, combining contemporary facilities with privacy and unobstructed views of the sea.

The location

In the north of the prefecture, you will find Rethymnon itself; a beautiful port town situated exactly between the two airports of Heraklion and Chania. About 8 km outside of Rethymnon lies the beautiful village of Agios Dimitrios, named after the Byzantine church in the area of Pigi. It is a typical and quiet village with white Greek houses, set in the beautiful nature of Crete where most people enjoy the traditional Cretan life. The nearest beach is just a few minutes away from the project location.



Crete is the largest, best accessible island of Greece, which is always a few degrees warmer, and welcomes tourists from early spring to late autumn. Rental of this type of villa is therefore very popular.
