Location

Pogonia, a picturesque village located on the west coast of mainland Greece, is situated in a breathtaking backdrop of beautiful and serene views of the crystal clear waters of the Ionian sea. Olive trees, vineyards and pine trees extend down to sandy beaches. Local tavernas, cafes and a bakery are within walking distance.



The villa offers an excellent base to be able to explore the neighbouring islands of Lefkada (which has some of the top 10 beaches in Europe), Meganissi, Kalamos, Kastos, Atokos and the famous Scorpios island that used to belong to the Onassis family.



About 4 km away from the villa is the small but busy town of Paleros which is a lively alternative to Pogonia. There are tavernas, shops and the famous Paleros Yacht club that provides all day entertainment and offers sun loungers and umbrellas to relax whilst enjoying a drink or dine delicious dishes by the sea.



The nearest airport is the airport of Preveza, which is less than 30 minutes away from the villa, where frequent flights arrive every day. From Athens airport, Pogonia can be reached within 3.5 hours by the new motorway and from Thessaloniki it is a 4.5-hour drive, also through a good highway. The area can also be reached by car: ferries from Italy (Venice, Ancona, Bari, Brindisi) arrive in Igoumenitsa and in Patras at 1.5 hours and 2 hours from Pogonia, respectively.
