Full Description

Major portion of a magnificently renovated Tuscan farmstead, over 400 sqm, offering exceptional quality accommodation just outside Florence.

Full of character with brick tuscan arches, terracotta floors and heavy beamed wooden ceilings the house is presented in immaculate condition and offers a perfect home in the beautiful countryside of Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci. There is spacious accommodation and a lovely garden with beautiful views and a hot-tub.

The house is entered into a stunning open triple room of living room/ kitchen/ dining room each slightly separated with tuscan arches. A stunning wine press from 1892 and 1902 is proudly displayed and forms a striking centerpiece in this lovely space. On this level there is a bathroom, a bedroom as well as a laundry room. On the first floor are two large double bedrooms with wonderful views and a well fitted bathroom. There is also a lovely kitchen/ living room with a huge fireplace, used as additional seating area. The top (second) floor comprises three large rooms, currently used for storage, which offer additional potential. So the property is currently three bedrooms, but could easily become a five bed house by utilising the space on the top floor.

The garden of 140 sqm is so pretty with beautiful planting and exceptional views and offers a lovely place to spend time relaxing in the sunshine. The hot-tub is a real treat.

Just 5 km from the lovely town of Vinci where there are shops, post office, bank, coffee bars, restaurant and a pizzeria. Today the beautiful rural area of Montalbano has developed small-scale ecological tourism in harmony with careful management of the traditional agriculture. Of prime importance is the production of wine and olive-oil but also honey, cheese and special local preserves are found in the area. The landscape is dominated by hills covered in rows of vines and with olive trees over the higher lands with chestnut trees at the summits. Between the 16th and 17th centuries approximately 10,000 acres of Montalbano were transformed by the Medici family into the Barco Reale Mediceo, a vast area used a nature reserve. Some short portions of the perimeter wall surrounding the area still exist today. The area of Montalbano is particularly suited for walks and excursions, thanks to an extensive network of trails which lead through the green countryside, past archeological sites, and into the ancient woods such as the oak woodlands of Pietramarina.
