There are a multitude of colourful shops selling traditional handicrafts and souvenirs, as well as a great selection of kafeneons, tavernas, bars and local produce shops. There is also a bank, doctors’ surgery and schools and the village is well served by public transport with a regular bus service to and from Agios Nikolaos. The nearest beach is within 10kms and the international airport at Heraklion is within a one hour drive.
