To west, Sillé le Guillaume. 10 kms, 15 minutes by car, large medieval castle, shops, bars, hotels, garages, railway station to Le Mans, south-east, and Laval, west. Supermarket, SuperU. Good medical centre. Also Sillé Plage - lake surrounded by Sillé forest, for sailing, swimming, bars, restaurants, also horse race course. The very extensive Sillé forest which extends from Sillé to Montreuil is used a lot for hunting and rambling. In the whole area there is a lot of hunting, shooting, fishing and rambling.

St Léonard des Bois in les Alpes Mancelles, with hotels and outdoor sports connected with the river Sarthe is 15 - 20 kms north of Montreuil and St Céneri le Gérei, a particularly picturesque village is a further 5 kms on towards Alençon.

ALENÇON is 20 kms to the north of here (half an hour by car) Just before it is Arçonnay which has a large commercial and shopping complex including an enormous Leclerc. At Alençon the railway station connects north to Caen and south to Le Mans. Alençon is an attractive small town with a long history, famous for the manufacture of tulle and lace, with 31000 inhabitants.

LE MANS is 30 kms to the south (half to three quarters of an hour by car) also reachable by rail from Sillé with TGV connections east to Paris (Montparnasse) in 55 minutes and west to Rennes (Brittany) and south-west to Nantes and the coast. Le Mans is a city of about 140000 inhabitants, well known dor its motor racing track (24 hour race), has a very picturesque old town and plenty of shops.

MOTORWAY. (Autoroute A28/E402) is 15 kms east from here via a good straight connection. The A28 runs north to Alençon thence to Caen or Rouen and south to Le Mans and the rest of France.
