The beaches of the Costa Tropical, including the more local ones at Playa Granada and Salobreña are also close at hand.
The historic city of Granada with all it has to offer including the amazing Alhambra Palace, and its airport lying a little way to the west, are both reached within an hour by car,  whilst the Sierra Nevada ski resort is accessible within 75 mins. 
This stunningly beautiful area, including the Lecrin Valley and Alpujarras offer a wide variety of outdoor pursuits, with many lovely walking and cycling routes available.
