Full Description

Unique opportunity to purchase a spacious beach front property with wide sea views, terrace and garage, in the heart of the Ligurian village of San Terenzo, the picturesque Bay of the Poets in Liguria.

The house (125 sqm) is set immediately across the road from the beach and forms the top two floors of an historical building. It was restored by a renown local architect who has successfully retained many character features yet converted the space to create a home full of space and light. The property is offered in immaculate condition and has been very well-maintained by the current owners. Excellent holiday rental record.

Accommodation comprises:
on the lower level a spacious entrance hall opening to a living-dining area, further living room (or 3rd bedroom), 2 bedrooms and fully-tiled bathroom with shower;

on the upper level: an open, under lit stairway, leads to a well-equipped kitchen/diner opening onto terrace with sea views, study area in niche, store/utility and bathroom with shower;

the property includes a garage approx 300 m away. All services are connected, including high speed fibre broadband.

The golden sandy beach is across the road and looks out to the islands, to Portovenere and the castles of San Terenzo and Lerici. In San Terenzo there is a good selection of restaurants, picturesque cafès, shops and a wide sandy beach. Lerici is a very pleasant 15 min seafront stroll away. The Gulf of The Poets, a pearl of the Mediterranean, with character villages, craggy coves and sandy beaches, is enchanting. It has been home to many poets and writers over the years including Shelley, Byron and DH Lawrence. There is great sailing around this coastline, with the Cinque Terre, Elba and the Tuscan islands all within easy reach. San Terenzo itself is dominated by the castle with the old village of pastel coloured buildings huddled on the steep hill dropping down to the sea and the marina. There are many colourful shops and restaurants and it is an ideal place to relax and explore. The easiest way to get around the gulf is by boat which run between Lerici, La Spezia, Portovenere and on to The Cinque Terre. These five villages are strung along the terraced cliffs and form a UNESCO World Heritage site which, until recently, could only be reached by boat or by train. Anyone visiting the Cinque Terre should take a walk along the cliff paths which link one village to the next, stop in one of the bars or restaurants and try the anchovies marinated in olive oil and garlic, served with bread and delicate white wine made from the grapes which grow up the steep terraces above the villages.

Distances: Lerici 4 kms, La Spezia 8 kms, Sarzana 8 kms, Cinque Terre 20 kms, Pisa (airport) 65 kms, Lucca 65 kms, Portofino 85 kms, Genoa 100 kms, Florence 130 kms.
