This house is set on a historical site was originally an antique iron foundry (1798) where an elderly blacksmith is still working, as his family has done for four generations. His working tools are actually powered by the water as in ancient times. There is a small river very close to the property making this possible.

The house built in 1846 is only about a hundred meters from the foundry. It has been restored lovingly by its present owners, taking good care of the original features such as the mezzanine tiles and the chestnut beams in the ceilings, which have been sandblasted, coming out beautifully. The windows are all in chestnut wood and partially double glazed and they all have mosquito nets.

It is built on three levels; the large well-kept garden, the patio for al fresco dining and the next level with the gazebo with mosquito-net and curtains.

The guest apartment is on the patio level. There is a small entrance, a room which has been prepared to just fit in a kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom. It is not connected to the rest of the house but it is a possibility.

The main house is on two floors and the entrance is from the rear side on the level of the pergola. The entrance and dining area is also the sitting room with two windows overlooking the garden. A recent and performing wood stove is also available. The floors are in terra-cotta. The next room is the large built in kitchen where there is an open fireplace, and from there are the stairs taking up to the first floor where there is a master bedroom and two smaller bedrooms- all with sloping ceilings- and a bathroom with shower.

On the property is a private spring which means the water is for free and in case of the building of a pool this is really good and the garden is 500 square meters large so there is plenty of space. In the garden the owners have installed a large fountain with pumped water and lights.

The entire land is 5000 sqm but most of it is sloping land and it is located at the rear side of the house which is included in the property, here you will find many fruit trees: chestnuts, cherries, hazelnuts etc.

This property is two and a half kilometres from the village where there is a restaurant, two grocery shops, a bar and a pharmacy. The "Parco Regionale delle Alpi Apuane" starts at the doorstep of the house. The property is easily accessible, no mountain road full of tight turns.
