Tomar is a popular town with all modern day amenities including supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, hospital, wood merchants, hospital, schools, municipal sports ground, swimming pool, many guest houses and hotels and banks as well as the municipal offices.
The beautiful Castelo de Bode lake is within a twenty minute drive, and the surrounding area has many superb river beaches.
The closest airport to the property is located at Lisbon, which is around one and a half hours' by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
