Full Description

Villa with sea view in immaculate condition, close to Portovenere and the Cinque Terre.

Outstanding villa, 3 bedrooms, with garden and sea view close to the beautiful town of Portovenere on the sea front and to the Cinque Terre.

The villa of 180 sqm is designed to capture the sea view at every turn. The entrance is into the welcoming living room with large doors which lets the light flood through and lead out to the pretty garden. On this level are two bedrooms and a large bathroom.

Upstairs is the spectacular open living/dining/kitchen with doors which lead out to a terrace and garden. The vine covered pergola offers welcome shade to dine under. There is also a bedroom and bathroom on this level. From virtually every window are wonderful views of the sea.

The well-kept garden covers 500 sqm on three levels, an ideal place to relax by the sea. There are olive trees, fruit trees and lovely lawned areas. There is a garage available by separate negotiation for euro 35,000.

Portovenere is a picture postcard old fishing town, dominated by a castle on the hill and the Church of San Giorgio on the tip of the promontory. The tall, narrow, pastel coloured houses with traditional green shutters line the seafront and the narrow, cobbled streets, with excellent restaurants and interesting craft stalls. Just around the bay are the Cinque Terre. Boats run from Portovenere to the Cinque Terre and to Lerici in the Gulf of the Poets. Sailing is a favourite pastime in the area and crewed or skippered yachts are available for hire.

The Cinque Terre (five towns) is a string of five fishing villages perched high on the Italian Riviera (in Liguria) which until recently were linked by mule tracks and accessible only by rail or water. An ancient system of footpaths is still the best way to visit the five villages: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. The Cinque Terre are noted for their beauty. Over centuries, people have carefully built terraces to cultivate grapes and olives on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs which overlook the Mediterranean Sea.The breathtaking views of harbours far below and rugged coastline, together with the medieval fortresses and plentiful vines and vibrant colours make this a very special place to enjoy. The Cinque Terre, recognized in 1997 as a UNESCO World Heritage site, are today a National Park and Protected Marine Area with the aim of protecting this great cultural heritage and natural environment.
