Montpellier, a major university city with good road and rail links and excellent cultural facilities is 50 minutes away. There are international airports at both Béziers and Montpellier. The Mediterranean coast, where there are many long sandy stretches of beach to choose from, can be reached in a thirty-minute drive. There are walks in the Cevennes and in the Pyrenees and pleasant walking in the vineyards around the house and village. There is also good skiing in the Pyrenees in winter. The area is very popular with road and off-road cyclists.
